Now Open: 2025 Catalyst to Independence Award

January 11, 2024

We are excited to announce the third cycle of the Catalyst to Independence Award supporting exceptional early career scientists in their transition from mentored postdoctoral positions to early career faculty. This investigator-first award is open to MD, DO, and PhD postdoctoral researchers focused on basic, translational, or clinical single ventricle heart disease research.

The Catalyst to Independence Award provides mentoring, professional, and financial support, up to $1M in funding over 5 years, to establish and promote the next generation of single ventricle investigators. Interested trainees are encouraged to submit applications that align with our Research Roadmap in topic areas such as the origins of single ventricle, enhancing patient outcomes, establishing new care paradigms, and identifying functional cures.

Since 2021, Additional Ventures has awarded 6 outstanding postdoctoral researchers at 5 U.S. institutions, providing each awardee with unique professional and funding support. We remain committed to supporting trainee-led single ventricle research and equipping awardees with the professional, management, and research tools they need to lead successful independent research labs.

Letters of intent for the Catalyst to Independence Award are due March 14th, 2024 by 8:00pm EST.
